Court issues non-bailable warrant against hotelier, mill owners

A local court has issued a non-bailable warrant against some hoteliers and mill owners for producing and selling sub-standard spice item.

In 2015, Food Safety Department had lifted samples of ‘saunf powder’ from Hotel Gulmarg Resorts that were later on sent to the Food Laboratory Kolkatta. The Referral laboratory Kolkata after analyzing the samples had declared the said spice item as substandard and unsafe for consumption.

Accordingly the Food Safety Department through its Food Safety Officer filed a criminal complaint in Baramulla court against Muhammad Rafiq Shah General Manager Hotel Gulmarg Resorts, Javid Ahmad Burza proprietor Hotel Gulmarg Resorts, Muhammad Younis Sofi proprietor Z.S Traders Court Road Srinagar, Abid Majeed Matto proprietor National Spices Mills Industrial Estate Baghi Ali Mardan Khan Nowshehra Srinagar and proprietor Matto Brothers S R Gung Srinagar.

After failing to appear before the court, Judicial Magistrate Tangmarg issued a non-bailable warrant against all the accused.
