Batamaloo shuts for third consecutive day against civilian killing

A complete shutdown was observed for the third consecutive day in Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Monday.

The area has been observing a shutdown since Saturday evening after the killing of a civilian Sajad Ahmad Sheikh.

Locals in the area had announced that the entire Batamaloo area will observe shutdown for four days to protest the killing of 22 year old Sajad Ahmad Sheikh.

Pertinently, Sajad, a resident of Chandoosa Baramulla, was shot dead on Saturday evening by the BSF personnel when they were passing through Reke Chowk.

However Police said they are investigating the situation in which the Baramulla youth was killed in Reke Chowk of Batamaloo.
