Militants kill NC mans close associate, ex-Ikhwani

Suspected militants Sunday killed a political activist and a former government gunmen, police sources said. They said that unidentified gunmen fired upon a person at Pinjoora Shopian, leaving him critically injured.

 According to reports, the person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan was fired upon from close range. He was critically injured and was shifted to district hospital Shopian where he succumbed to his injuries.

The reports suggest that he was close aide of National Conference leader Shabir Kullay. Kullay unsuccessfully fought assembly elections in 2014.

 Advocate by profession, Khan was public prosecutor in NC-Congress government.

Police sources said that gunmen also targeted a former government gunman, identified as Rashid Billa. Billa was shot dead at his Hajin residence in Bandipora district. Pertinently on Saturday evening, Bashir Ahmad was shot dead at his home in Pulwama.
