Drug peddler arrested
Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in south Kashmir, a police spokesman said.
He said that acting on a specific information, a police party of Police Post General Bus Stand Anantnag headed by SI Gowher Malla laid a naka near SK Colony KP Road Anantnag.
During naka checking, one person identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ibrahim Bhat resident of Aanchidoora was intercepted. On checking 17 bottles of codeine phosphate was recovered from his possession, the spokesman added.
He said that a case FIR number 51/2017 under section 8/21 NDPS was registered in Police Station Anantnag and investigation was taken up.
