Blast inside army camp in Poonch, no casualties
Jammu: A blast took place inside an Army camp in Poonch district on Tuesday, officials said. There were no casualties. The explosion occurred inside the 93rd brigade headquarters at Moti Mahal in the border district around 10.45 am. It has nothing to do with cross-border shelling (from Pakistan), said Jammu-based Army spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand.
The blast occurred in an unmanned shelter inside the camp and the matter is under investigation, he said.However, SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey told a local news gathering agency (GNS) that a shell was fired from the Pakistani side which landed in army’s 93 infantry brigade camp in Poonch district.The SSP said that one army bunker got damaged due to the shelling. He however, said that there was no immediate report of any injury to the soliders.
