Srinagar: Light to moderate rain or snow could occur on Tuesday in the summer capital, Srinagar, where minimum temperature has hit the below normal level though the maximum temperature on Monday was slightly up.
A Met department spokesman said here this evening that light to moderate rain, snow or thundershowers could occur in Srinagar during the next 24 hours.
The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 15 degree, over six notches below normal, and 4 degree again two degree colder than normal respectively.
He said despite cold breeze the maximum temperature in Srinagar on Monday was 22.6 degree, 0.4 notch above normal. However, the minimum temperature was 4 degree, two notches below normal.
World famous ski resort of Gulmarg, where upper heights received snowfall last week, recorded 10.5 degree maximum temperature, 2.6 degree below normal. The minimum temperature was 0.0 degree, more than 3 notches below normal.
Gulmarg was more colder than Leh and Kargil, where the maximum temperature was 11.7 degree and 13.8 degree respectively.
The MeT spokesman said light snow could occur at Leh and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 10 degree and 0 degree during the next 24 hours.
At Jammu the sky would be partly cloudy with light rain or thundershowers during the next 24 hours when the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 30 degree and 16 degree respectively.
