JRL appeals for shutdown in poll bound areas

Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Monday appealed people to observe a complete protest shutdown today (Tuesday) in the areas going for polls in last phase of what they termed as “sham elections thrust” on the people by the authoritarian state.
JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued here said that “as in the previous three phases, people will again demonstrate their total rejection and disregard of this futile exercise by staying away and boycotting it completely.”
“People demand ‘no to all election only right of self determination’,” JRL said.
The trio in a statement asked people to observe complete shutdown in New-Theed, Harwan, Nishat, Brane, Dalgate,Pantha chowk, Palapora, Tarabal, Kawadara, Hawal, Alamgari-Bazar Gilli-Kadal, Nowshara, Lal-Bazar, Botshah-Mohalla, Umer-Colony, Jogi-Lankar, Kathi-Darwaza, Lokut-Dal, Bud-Dal, Hazratbal, Tailbal, Habbak, Chatterhama, Zakura Soura, Buchpora and Ahmad-Nagar areas in Srinagar.
They also appealed people of Pattan, Ganderbal, Pampore, Khrew, Pulwama, Shopian and Dooru Verinag to observe shutdown and boycott the polls.
