Sacrifices of militants priceless assets of Kashmiri nation: Hurriyat (M)
Pays tribute to slain Kulgam militants, civilian
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Saturday paid tributes to five armed youth and a civilian Rouf Ahmed of Anchidoora, Islamabad in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district during an encounter Saturday.
According to the statement issued here, the amalgam said that youth are giving ultimate sacrifices of their lives to free the Kashmiri nation from the clutches of occupation and subjugation.
“These sacrifices being the priceless assets of Kashmiri nation, the resistance leadership and the people are duty bound to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end,” Hurriyat (M) said.
Hurriyat (M) strongly condemned the unabated use of pellets and live ammunition on the peaceful protesters at Kulgam, Shopian and other parts of south Kashmir leaving dozens of protestors seriously injured and termed the forces action as the “worst kind of state terrorism”.
The statement said that people of south Kashmir have been left at the mercy of forces as the killing, maiming of people and vandalizing of property has become the regular feature of forces there.
It further said that nocturnal raids in dozens of villages and arrest of many youth besides damaging the property of relatives of armed youth in Pulwama district is highly commendable as it amounts to an open aggression against the civilian population.
“GoI’s intentions are once again clear that it wants to crush the popular sentiment and people’s struggle through its military might and for this all the undemocratic measures are being employed to break the people’s resolve,” Hurriyat (M) said.
Hurriyat Conference (M) said that resistance leadership is barred from carrying out any political activity by confining them to their own residences or else lodging in police stations which is nothing but ‘a vendetta’.
The amalgam said while on the one hand resistance leadership is detained or lodged in jails, on the other, selective killings of youth is carried out followed by other repressive measures to push the youth to the wall.
Hurriyat (M) said that the entire south Kashmir, the rural belt in particular, has been turned into a force’s garrison where every alternate day, forces launch sudden CASOs under the garb of hunting for the militants during which innocent and unarmed youth are detained, residents thrashed and properties worth lakhs damaged. “This is being done to instill fear among the population so that it is forced into submission,” the statement said.
Condemning the iron-fist policy of the New Delhi in Kashmir, the amalgam said that such measures can neither break the resolve of resistance leadership nor the people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat has expressed its gratitude to the government of Turkey for the support extended to Kashmir cause and hoped that all the member states of OIC across the globe would also pitch in and help resolve the Kashmir dispute.
The spokesman strongly condemned the arrest of its senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and lodging him police station Sherbagh, Islamabad terming it ‘sheer political vendetta’.
