Multiple funeral prayers held for slain militants
Kulgam/Anantnag: Multiple funeral prayers were held for the five slain militants who were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Chowgam village on Saturday.
Sources said that three funeral prayers were held for the slain militant, Gulzar Ahmad of Takiya Adijan Kulgam.
Amid pro-freedom and pro-militant slogans, Gulzar was laid to rest in his native village, they said, adding that the fourth funeral prayer of the slain militant was held after his burial.
Pertinently, Gulzar was the first to pick up the gun post 2014 elections from Noorabad belt, which was considered to be the hub of mainstream politics.
Zahid Ahmad, another militant was also laid to rest after four rounds of funeral prayers at his native village in Okay village of Kulgam amid pro freedom and pro-Islam slogans, eyewitnesses said.
They said that a group of militants appeared at the funeral of Zahid and offered gun salute to him.
Fasil Ahmad Rather, third militant was also laid to rest in his native village at Yamrach after multiple funeral prayers, eyewitnesses said that five rounds of funeral prayers were offered to the slain militant during which pro-freedom and pro-Pakistan slogans reverberated in the air.
Reports said that militants offered gun salute to him there as well.
Masroor Molvi was also laid to rest in his native village Fatehpora of Kabamarg area in Anantnag district after two rounds of funeral prayers.
Eyewitnesses said that thousands of people participated in his funeral prayers who were chanting pro freedom, pro-militant and pro-Pakistani slogans.
Meanwhile, Zahoor Ahmad Lone of Nagnad Damhal Hanjipora Kulgam was also laid to rest after two rounds of funeral prayers.
