Amid clashes more than seventy injured in Kulgam, Anantnag, one shifted to Sgr with pellet gun injuries on face
Anantnag: More than seventy persons have been injured, most of them by pellet guns, during clashes in Khudwani Kulgam and Muniwar area of Anantnag district following killing of two militants in an early morning gun battle.
Among the two slain militants, Altaf Kachroo and Umar Wani, lateral is from Khudwani.
A doctor at the Public Health Centre Qaimoh told reporters that till 2 pm they had received 64 injured persons, of which four were referred to District hospital Anantnag with pellet gun injuries on on face and in eyes.
Seven persons were injured in Anantnag during clashes between protesters and forces.
“Among the injured is Mudassir ahmad s.o mohmmad hayat r.o Qadir shopian, with bullet injury in right arm,” doctors at Anantnag District Hospital said.
Two militants including Umar wani were killed on Wednesday morning during a gun battle between forces and militant in muniwar area of anantnag.
Umar was killed alongside Altaf Kachroo, longest surviving and most important commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. Umar, according to police had recently escaped an encounter in Battamaloo area of Srinagar. One police man was killed in the battamaloo encounter.
