Five youth detained for disrupting prayers in a south Kashmir mosque
Srinagar: At least five youth were detained by police on Wednesday for misbehaving with worshippers during prayers at a local mosque in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The youth had misbehaved with worshippers during “Tarawi” prayers on Tuesday in Sultania Jamia Masjid in Naman, Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
“The five youths were arrested after a video surfaced on social networking sites showing youth acting mischievously during “Tarawi” prayers in the village, a police official said.
“All the boys were arrested after the video went viral sparking off outrage against the act and netizens calling for strict action against the boys” said a police officer.
Kakpora police station has registered a case FIR No 19/2018 under sections 296 and 451 RPC against the arrested youths after villagers complained in the police station, the official added.
