Forces to resume operations against militants after Eid
Srinagar: The Centre has decided not to extend the Ramadhan Ceasefire in J&K which was initiated soon after the beginning of Ramadhan.
In a tweet on Thursday, Home Ministry said “#Ramadan Ceasefire not to be extended in J&K, @adgpi @JmuKmrPolice & paramilitary forces to resume operations against militants after #Eid .. Decision taken at a High level meeting held at @HMO India Residence.”
The Non-Initiation of Combat Operations (NICO) was announced soon after the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti asked the centre for the same in order to pave way for peaceful Ramadhan.
