Militants give slip to forces in Hajin after brief exchange of fire
Srinagar: A brief gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in north Kashmir’s Hajin area of Bandipora during wee hours of Friday, reports said.
According to reports, the firefight began after army’s 13-RR unit launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Bonikhan Mohlla and Mir Mohalla of Hajin following specific inputs about the presence of militants and as the searches were intensified the militants fired at army, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.
However, a source said that militants after exchanging fire with the forces managed to escape.
No loss of life or injury was reported, source said.
Notably, government has ordered a ceasefire in holy month of Ramadan.
