Three days on, AJKPA Budgam continue to press for their demands
Budgam: All Jammu and Kashmir Pathwar Association (AJKPA) Budgam continued to observe strike for the third consecutive day on Wednesday to press for their demands.
The Pathwar Association Budgam also assembled in the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office where they held a sit-in protest seeking fulfillment of their demands.
On the occasion, the association alleged discrimination in the grade pay, saying that the grade pay of graduate teachers is 2800 while as the graduate Pathwaris are getting the grade pay of only 2400.
“We demand the government to stop this discrimination and provide the grade pay to the employees with no discrimination,” Jahangir Ahmad, Secretary Pathwari Association said.
He also demanded creation of more Pathwari halqas to curb the workload.
Meanwhile, the association further stated that the government has so far failed to provide them separate buildings as the office is currently being run from a private construction.
The association strongly criticized the direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, saying that the Naib Tehsildar must be recruited as per the experience.
“We also demand the enhancement of Travel and other allowances, timely promotion of Pathwaris and rent for Pathwari Khanas. We will continue to protest till the government fulfill our demands,” Farooq Ahmad, a member of the Pathwari association said.
