JCCI distances itself from Jammu Bandh call by Bar association
Srinagar: The Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Tuesday said that it will not support Jammu Bandh call given by J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu.
In a statement issued here, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu Rakesh Gupta said that JCCI has always considered the Bar Association of Jammu as an elderly body but the Jammu Bandh announced by the Bar Association is a unilateral decision ignoring the facts hence JCCI does not support this call for Bandh.
Terming the rape and murder of eight year old Asifa as a henious crime, JCC distanced itself from the Bandh call announced by the Bar association.
“Rassana Rape and Murder of an eight year child is a heinous crime irrespective of cast, creed and religion and who-so-ever is found guilty should be awarded highest punishment as provided under law, and the fact is that the investigation by the Crime Branch was being monitored by the Hon’ble High Court and the charge sheet has also been filed so it is a subjudice matter and it is entirely upto the judiciary to see the authenticity of the charge sheet and decide the same or handover to CBI for further investigation”, the statement said.
