Training of Female Staff for Pink Polling Stations commences in Pulwama
PULWAMA: In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Legislative Assembly Elections, a comprehensive training program for female staff assigned to Pink Polling Stations in Pulwama District commenced.
The training aims to ensure smooth, inclusive and efficient election processes at these women-centric polling stations.
The initiative to establish Pink Polling Stations, entirely managed by female staff, reflects the Election Commission’s commitment to increasing women’s participation in the electoral process, both as voters and facilitators. These specialized polling stations are designed to create a conducive environment for women voters, encouraging greater voter turnout and enhancing gender inclusivity in the electoral process.
During the training, participants were briefed on various critical aspects of election management, including voter identification, operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), polling station arrangements and ensuring a comfortable and secure voting experience for all women voters.
The training of female polling staff will ensure that the management of these stations is efficient and voter-friendly, providing women a comfortable environment to exercise their franchise.
The training session was also attended by key election officials who provided valuable insights and hands-on demonstrations to ensure the readiness of the polling staff. More such sessions will be conducted in the coming days to ensure that all female staff are well-prepared to manage the Pink Polling Stations on Election Day.
