SVEEP programmes organised across Rajpora-AC to promote Informed Voting & Civic Engagement
PULWAMA: In an ongoing commitment to fostering electoral awareness and promoting civic participation, Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programmes were conducted successfully across various locations in Rajpora Assembly Constituency (AC).
At Higher Secondary School (HSS) Hawal in Rajpora Constituency, the programme witnessed substantial participation from the local community. The event was further highlighted by a rally, in which the Nodal Officer SVEEP, along with other officials, students, and members of the general public, participated. The rally served to underscore the critical importance of voting and motivated attendees to exercise their democratic rights.
Prior to the rally, specialists in voter education engaged with the general public, raising awareness about the importance of voting and inclusive participation.
Similarly, at Government Middle School Khelan Pulwama, the programme saw notable involvement from senior citizens, both men and women. The enthusiastic participants engaged actively in learning about the significance of voting and committed to casting their valuable votes in the upcoming Assembly elections. The event concluded with the participants joining a procession dedicated to spreading awareness throughout the locality.
Additionally, the Heeposh Cluster Level Federation (CLF) conducted a programme at their cluster head in Rahmoo. The focus was on boosting voter turnout and ensuring extensive community participation in the forthcoming elections. Members of the Heeposh CLF undertook a pledge to uphold democratic principles and maintain the integrity of free and fair elections, committing to vote with sincerity.
These SVEEP initiatives epitomize the broader objectives of the Election Commission of India and the District Administration to cultivate a well-informed and engaged electorate as the Assembly elections approach.
The concerted efforts of the Department of School Education, the Rural Development Department and various CLFs are instrumental in advancing voter awareness and ensuring comprehensive civic participation.
