Mega SVEEP program held at MET School Sopore

BARAMULLA: In a significant move to bolster voter awareness and participation in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 for 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency scheduled to go for polls on 20th May, a comprehensive voter awareness program was conducted Saturday at M.E.T School Sopore under SVEEP initiative.

The event was graced by Expenditure Observer, Sita Ram Meena; while District Election Officer Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Divya Dev; ARO Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, Nodal Officer SVEEP, Shabir Ahmad Khan and other dignitaries were also present.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, including students, teachers, and citizens from diverse backgrounds who featured in various engaging activities aimed at highlighting the importance of voting and ensuring every eligible voter participates in the democratic process.

Various sporting activities were conducted during the program, engaging a large number of new voters and students who actively participated, enthusiastically spreading the message of the importance of voting for a better future.

Additionally, a unique e-Rickshaw rally was flagged-off during the program which traveled through different localities, playing a pivotal role in disseminating the message of voter awareness and the significance of participation in the democratic process.

This event was part of a series of events that district administration has been conducting over the last few months under SVEEP initiative as per the guidelines of ECI to bolster electoral participation on the election day.
