Lok Sabha Election 2024: Distt Admin B’pora organises Awareness programme under SVEEP
BANDIPORA: As part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, the District Administration Bandipora Friday organised an awareness programme for BLOs and Asha Workers at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.
The programme was attended by BLOs of Education Zone Bandipora and Quilmuqam and Asha Workers falling under Medical Block Bandipora.
Padmashri Faisal Ali Dar was present as Brand Ambassador of SVEEP activities for District Bandipora. He is also a youth icon in the SVEEP campaign for J&K UT.
Various speakers addressed the gathering during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmashri Faisal Ali Dar appreciated the BLOs and other field functionaries for their contribution in raising awareness regarding the electoral process. He said for fostering a vibrant democracy, cultivating a robust voting culture is paramount.
Faisal said, developing a voting culture is our collective responsibility, and emphasized the pivotal role of citizens in shaping the democratic landscape.
He also emphasized on ethical voting for making informed decisions.
District Nodal Officer Manpower and Trainings, Dr. G. M Pujoo highlighted the objectives of the programme and role of responsible citizens in democratic setup. He also deliberated on the role of BLOs and Asha Workers at booth level.
In his speech, Dr. Pujoo also highlighted rights available to citizens and their duties. He said every single vote counts and one should know the value of vote to ensure greater participation in democracy.
Addressing the participants, District Nodal officer SVEEP, Javid Iqbal emphasized upon ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity and means to participate in the electoral process by prioritizing the principle of ‘No Voter to be Left Behind,’.
District Master Trainer, Mohammad Iqbal Samoon highlighted various aspects of SVEEP and urged the participants to generate awareness among the general public regarding the facilities available on poll day for different sections of society including senior citizens and specially-abled persons to encourage enthusiastic participation.
Arsallan Habib Coordinator SVEEP activities; Coordinator manpower and training, Mir Irfan Maqbool also addressed the event.
