Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes eight vehicles arrests eight drivers

Srinagar: Police seized eight vehicles and arrested their drivers involved in Illegal extraction of minerals in Baramlla, a police spokesman said Thursday.

He said that police seized eight vehicles (03 Tippers & 05 tractors) and arrested eight drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Chakloo, Delina Ghat and Palpora Palhallan Baramulla.

They have been identified as Mohammad Nadeem Dar son of Mohammad Ashraf resident of Kokathal Kreeri, Basit Ahmad Ganie son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Garkote Uri, Mashooq Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Kungamdara Pattan, Khursheed Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi, Towfeeq Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Ahad, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik son of Ghlam Hassan, all residents of Delina Ghat Baramulla, Bilal Ahmad Rather son of Ali Mohammad resident of New Colony Palhallan & Jehangir Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Palhallan Baramulla.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
