Police arrests two drug peddlers in Ganderbal, Baramulla

Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Ganderbal and Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Satuurday.

He said that police received a specific information regarding presence of contraband substance in a residential house of Javaid Ahmad Laharwal son of late Abdul Gaffar Laharwal resident of Kondabal.

On receipt of this information, a police party raided the said residential house. During search, Heron like substance was recovered from the said house. The recovered contraband substance was seized in presence of Executive Magistrate First Class and the accused was arrested on the spot, the spokesman added.

In Baramulla, a police party at a checkpoint established at Ahtishampora Boniyar intercepted one person. During search, 46 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Imran Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Bujhthalan Boniyar. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Boniyar where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Stations and further investigations have been taken up, the spokesman said.
