Police books three notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act

Srinagar: Police booked three most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, a police spokesman said Friday.

He said that the most wanted and notorious drug smugglers identified as Suhail Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Hassan, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad both residents of Solinda Khaipora Tangmarg and Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Watalpora Tangmarg have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.

Pertinently, many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and they were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Tangmarg areas and other areas of the District. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
