Rawalpora residents demand Aadhar Centre

Srinagar: The residents of Rawalpora Srinagar Thursday complained about the non-availability of an Aadhar Centre in the area.

The locals said that the non-availabilty of the Aadhar facilities in uptown Srinagar causes immense hardships to a huge chunk of resident population.

They said an Aadhar Centre existed in Rawalpora and allege the same was closed many months back for unknown reasons.

“We had a proper Aadhar Centre functional at Rawalpora which was lodged in a Government school and it used to cater to the majority of uptown population. But unfortunately it has been closed down for unknown reasons,” Muhammad Ashraf, a local resident rued adding that the entire population of the catchment areas suffer for Aadhar updation facilities.

Another resident Imtiyaz Ahmed Noorani of Hakeem Bagh Rawalpora complained that the people here have been left with no option but to visit distant Aadhar centres like at Baghat Kanipora or at Channapora.

“We request the authorities to take cognisance of our grievance and immediately re-establish an Aadhar Centre at Rawalpora for public convenience”
