Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes three vehicles, arrests three persons in Baramulla
Srinagar: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized three vehicles and arrested three persons in Baramulla, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party seized three vehicles (Tippers) and arrested three persons (Drivers) at Shrai Tangmarg for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
The accused drivers have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie resident of Reram, Abdul Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Gani Sheikh resident of Hoom and Hilal Ahmad Bhat son of Asadullah Bhat resident of Atipora Kunzar. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been taken up, he said.
