Police seizes illicit timber in Ganderbal, accused held
Srinagar: Police seized illicit timber in Ganderbal and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at Chinner intercepted a vehicle (Load Carrier) bearing registration number JK16B-5996 who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
During search, illicit timber was recovered from the said vehicle. The accused driver identified as Kaiser Ahmad Magray son of Fayaz Ahmad Magray resident of Satrina Kangan involved in the commission of crime was arrested on the spot. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 126/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation has been taken up, he said.
