Vigilance Awareness Week: Awareness programme on Perils of Corruption held at AM-GDC Kilam
KULGAM: Under Vigilance Awareness Week, an awareness programme was held Saturday at Altaf Memorial Government Degree College Kilam with the theme, ‘Say No to Corruption, Commit to the Nation’.
College Staff, students and NCCs participated in the programme.
The aim of the programme was to sensitize the students about the importance of vigilance and how corruption hits the roots of the society.
Programme was organised by the District Administration in collaboration with College authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Imtiyaz ul Aziz, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) District Kulgam gave an overview of the legal aspects of corruption, different forms of corruption and practices for curtailing corruption.
He also highlighted different initiatives taken by the district Administration Kulgam to curb the menace of corruption.
He emphasized that the development of a country is based on the value of corruption-free status.
The public’s role, duties, and responsibilities for corruption-free status were stressed by ACR.
Principal Yasmeen Majid Khan during her speech highlighted that organizing such programmes in colleges definitely proves helpful for the students.
She deliberated on different aspects of corruption and the perils. She encouraged students to be vigilant and not to fall prey to the circuit of corruption.
