Mobile Veterinary Vans allocated to benefit Six Blocks in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF.Hamid Friday inaugurated a function held at District Veterinary Hospital Anantnag during which three mobile veterinary vans for six veterinary blocks of the district under the scheme establishment of mobile veterinary clinics under UT capex were distributed.

The DC on the occasion said that this initiative, a testament to the commitment will improve animal welfare and the livelihoods of the farming community and  expected to make a positive impact.

The three mobile veterinary vans, equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed by qualified veterinarians, will serve the six blocks within the district. Each mobile veterinary van is designed to provide a range of essential services, including Preventive healthcare, including vaccinations, deworming, diagnosis and treatment of common livestock diseases and emergency medical care for injured animals.

He said that the challenges faced by farmers in accessing veterinary services, particularly in remote and undeserved areas. The distribution of these mobile veterinary vans underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors, which are vital components of the local economy.

The DC also said that this proactive step is a reflection of the district administration’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of livestock, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ultimately improving the livelihoods of the people in Anantnag District.

The schedule and contact details for each van’s operation within the six blocks will be made available through the district’s agricultural and animal husbandry departments. General public especially  farmers community were asked  to take benefit of this initiative through designated Helpline No 1962.

The event was attended by Dr. Javed Mohiduin Zargar CAHO, LDO Dr. Reyaz Nazir  Reeshi, various  officers  from District Administration and a large number of farmers community.
