Change the mindset from 'job seekers to job providers': DC to Youth

BANDIPORA: The Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora Wednesday conducted a selection of beneficiaries for establishment of different units, including sheep & shearing units under various income generation schemes.

The program was presided over by District Development Council Chairperson Ab Gani Bhat along with Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Ali Khan, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora besides a gathering of beneficiaries were also present on the occasion.

The selection process was monitored by the selection & monitoring committee framed by Director Sheep Husbandry and an officer nominated by District Administration Bandipora.

The selection was done through Draw of lots method giving due share to SC/ ST, EWS, BPL, and women categories as per the guidelines of the scheme.

On the occasion, as many as 20 unemployed youth were selected under HADP for establishment of 50 Ewes commercial Farm through ‘draw of lots’ process. Besides, 10 Chopans for issuance of PP sheets/ tents and 01 Chopan for Construction of Dhoka/Kotha were selected under HADP through the process.

While congratulating those who got selected, the DC reflected on the potential of sheep farming in providing livelihood opportunities and socio-economic upliftment of the society.

Addressing the young aspiring sheep entrepreneurs, the DC emphasized them on changing the mindset from “job seekers to job providers”
