Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes seven vehicles, arrests as many people

Srinagar: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized seven vehicles and arrested seven persons in Ganderbal, a police spokesman said Monday.

He said that police seized seven Tippers and arrested seven persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Ganderbal and Nagbal. They have been identified as Aadil Ahmad Buhroo son of Abdul Ahad Buhroo resident of Bamloora, Manzoor Ahmad Khoroo son of Abdul Satar Khoroo resident of Saloora, Mehraj ud Din Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Saloora, Altaf Ahmad Dar son of Abdl Ahad Dar resident of Malpora, Rayees Ahmad Bhat son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Bobispora, Altaf Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Nabi Wani resident of Nunar and Ghulam Mohammad son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din resident of Syedpora Khimber.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
