MC Shopian organises Cricket Match at Sports Stadium Batapora
SHOPIAN: On the directions of Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir and on the eve of celebration of Sports Day, Municipal Council, Shopian Tuesday organised a Cricket Match at Batapora Sports Stadium Shopian.
The President Municipal Council Shopian, Subash Koul was the chief guest on the occasion.
Two teams viz. J&K Police Shopian and Municipal Council Shopian participated in this contest which was won by the District Police team.
The winner team of J&K Police Shopian scored 258 runs, who defeated Municipal Council Shopian by 75 runs, who were able to score 183 runs only.
Speaking on the occasion, President Muncipal Council Shopian appreciated the efforts of both the teams. He appealed to the youth to take part in games more vigorously while concentrating on studies and not to indulge in anti-social activities.
ASP Shopian, Naresh Singh; Dy.SP, Majid Ahmad; Secretary MC, Assadullah Kumar and other officials and sportspersons of Municipal Council Shopian were present. MC councillors also were present on the occasion along with many local youth.
