Illegal extraction of minerals: Police arrests 11 persons, seizes 11 vehicles in Baramulla
Srinagar: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police arrested 11 persons and seized 11 vehicles in Baramulla, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that police parties seized 09 vehicles (04 tractors & 05 tippers) and arrested 09 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kalsari Pattan, Khore Sherabad Pattan, Jheel Singhpora Pattan and Goshbugh Pattan in separate incidents.
They arrested persons have been identified as Adil Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan and Saqib Ahmad Mir son of Fayaz Ahmad, both residents of Kalsari Pattan, Arif Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Rashid Shah resident of Khore Sherabad, Hashim Ali Reshi son of Mohammad Maqbool resident of Hanjiwera Payeen, Showkat Ahmad Khan son of Asgar Khan resident of Matipora and Imran Husain Malla son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Gund Khawaja Qasim, Danish Ahmad Malla son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Shilvat Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Sheikh Zoo Ganderbal and Manzoor Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Batwen Ganderbal.
Similarly, a police party seized two tractors and arrested 02 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Druroo Tangmarg. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Reshi son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Shrai and Rouf Ahmad Kumar son of Abdul Raheem resident of Hajibal Tangmarg.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up, the spokesman added.
