Police arrests man with fake gold biscuits

Baramulla: Police on Monday arrested a person along with 380 fake gold biscuits at Khanpora area of Baramulla, a police spokesman said.

He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Khanpora Bridge intercepted a person who tried to flee after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahim Dar resident of Khanpora Baramulla. During search, 380 fake gold biscuits weighing about 380 grams was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation has been initiated, he added.
