One Day Bankers Credit Seminar under HADP held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: One day Bankers credit Seminar under the banner of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ and Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) was Thursday held in the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

The seminar was presided over by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir and was attended by the district level functionaries of all the banks (public/ private sector banks), besides, representatives from various Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) and progressive farmers of the district.

The District Nodal Officer, Dr. Mohammad Haider (DSHO Ganderbal) organized the event in collaboration with District Development Manager, NABARD, Junaid Ahmad Hakim who presented a powerpoint presentation to apprise the bankers about the need for enhanced credit flows to Agriculture and allied sectors.

The event started with a welcome note from the District Nodal Officer wherein he welcomed the chair and participants and apprised the participants briefly about the programme.

The DDC welcomed the initiative and highlighted the importance of such an event which is aimed at bridging the gap between the banking institutions and the development departments under the Agriculture Production Department.

He stressed upon the importance of such discussions about the banking procedures and necessary requirements for a successful lending to help the development departments in understanding the set procedures so that they are further able to guide the farmers accordingly.

An elaborative presentation was presented by DDM NABARD through which the credit needs under various schemes in operation in different departments was the focal point of deliberation.

Later, an interactive session was held in which various doubts of bankers, departments and farmers were cleared on spot.

Among others, the event was attended by Joint Director Agriculture, Tabasum Naaz, Lead Bank Manager, Farhat Manzoor, Chief Horticulture Officer, A.H Bhat, Chief Agriculture Officer, Randhir Sharma, Programme Coordinator KVK Ganderbal, Ishfaq Abidi and representatives from other departments.
