Police arrests two drug peddlers

Srinagar: Police arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Delina Ghat arrested a drug peddler identified as Altaf Ahmad Rather son of Late Ghulam Nabi resident of Khaitangan Baramulla. During the search, 110 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Meanwhile, a police party at a checkpoint established at Kupwara Crossing Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Nadeem Rashid Gadoo @Vicky son of Abdul Rashid Gadoo resident of Shangergund Sopore. During the search, 288 SpasmoProxyvon Plus Capsules were recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody, he said.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
