The blessed era when the Muslim Ummah was united, called Khairul-Quron was the golden phase in Islamic history. However, with the passage of time, the Ummah got divided on the basis of ideas, but on the basis of the word, all the sects are under the umbrella of the Muslim Ummah, except the Qadianis, who denied the finality of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and differed in the ideology, and got out of the umbrella of the current Ummah. This is the situation. In other words, no party is non-Muslim or apostate without the Qadianis. Although there is a strong difference between them, but despite this, mutual respect existed until the recent past.

In the present era, this mutual respect has disappeared. Situation is as such that the Muslim sects are now openly attacking each other as polytheists and infidels. This is the reason why the gap between the Ummah is increasing instead of decreasing and in this work all sects of Sunnis and Shiyas are equally responsible.

One thing that lies behind the success of the Sufis in spreading the religion is that despite the fact that they have been different in terms of religious orders, they have not left the mutual respect. Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, Hanbali battles should never be seen. The reason is that if each other is considered to be a Muslim, then respect and politeness will remain.

In spite of the mutual differences in the Muslim Ummah, there is unity and uniformity in most of the beliefs and actions, but there are some places where there is disagreement. For example, asking the Prophets, Sadiqeen, Martyrs and the Righteous for non-permanent blessings, even if the majority of the Muslim Ummah listens to them. It has been common among the Shias since ancient times and the majority have strong reasons.

Now, on the contrary, there is a minority in the Muslim Ummah who consider this practice to be against monotheism. The majority sect calls this minority Wahhabis, because this ideology was promoted and spread by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Najdi, who belongs to the Arab region of Najd. So the people of this thought are called Wahhabis or Najdis.

The essence of divisiveness and sectarianism has affected the unity of Muslim Ummah to such an extent that not only is it necessary for every person to realise its dangerous effects, but also one needs to work effectively to remedy it. It is necessary that the fragility and seriousness of the situations that are rapidly happening around us compel us to understand the inscription and the signs and create solidarity and unity by eradicating hatred, hypocrisy and disunity among us.

We have to ensure every possible effort to promote the inter-sect unity because in this lies our welfare and survival and salvation. Regarding the importance of unity among Muslims Allah says: “O you who believe! Fear Allah as you have the right to fear Him and do not die, but as Muslims and hold on to the rope of Allah together and do not be divided. Remember Allah, that blessing (which He) sent down upon you when you were enemies of each other. So He created mutual love and affection in your hearts and you became brothers by the grace of Allah.”

It has been proven from this verse that Allah Ta’ala addresses all Muslims and says that they should adopt taqwa, that is, fear Allah Ta’ala in the way that they have the right to fear. This order is for all Muslims that in their life there is no moment without the fear of God, and when the journey of life is over and the hour of death approaches, they also come to the state of Islam.

It has been exhorted and urged to avoid discord and confusion and then mention is made of the favor of how Allah Almighty has saved us from the edge of the fiery furnace i.e. from certain destruction and instead of hatred and ugliness in our hearts we have mutual respect.

Therefore, Muslims have two types of responsibility for the establishment of a strong and a true Islamic society, one is individual and the other is collective. The first condition for the survival of the Islamic society is that each individual should fulfill his responsibility as per his capacity. It is the first step because the first step towards reforming the situation is to continue piety in the whole life.
