Police seizes six vehicles, arrests as many people

Srinagar: Police seized six vehicles and arrested six persons in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district for being involved in illegal extraction of minerals, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

He said that a police party arrested for persons and seized as many vehicles (tractors) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Mundri Nallah Fatehgarh. They have been identified as Muzamil Ahmad Bhat son of Bilal Ahmad Bhat resident of Zogiyar, Mudasir Rasheed Dar son of Abdul Rasheed Dar resident of Heewan, Firdous Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Sarwar Malla resident of Sheeri and Tajamul Bashir Malla son of Bashir Ahmad Malla resident of Sheeri.

Similarly, a police party arrested two persons and seized two vehicles (01 tipper and 01 tractor) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Juhama Baramulla, the spokesman said.

He identified the duo as Nisar Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat resident of Delina and Abdul Majeed Lone son of Abdul Aziz resident of Kachwa Muqam Chandoosa.
