DDC inaugurates Training programmes at ITI Shopian

240 Youth to be trained under the Scheme in financial year 2023-24

SHOPIAN: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya who is also Chairman, District Skill Committee Shopian Monday visited ITI Shopian and inaugurated training programmes under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 here.

Under the centrally sponsored scheme, free of cost training shall be imparted to the unemployed, school and college dropouts in the selected job roles to enhance their employability.

It was intimated that three batches with 80 trainees (beneficiaries) were started today. Training of other batches with 160 trainees/ beneficiaries under various Job roles approved under PMKVY 4.0 for Shopian district will be mobilized and started during the month of May 2023, in the second phase.

The DDC interacted with trainees/ beneficiaries of the scheme and stressed upon the importance of learning new skills with high market demand and using mastered skills for securing meaningful employment.
