DC Srinagar reviews physical, financial progress under various sectors

Says several projects completed under R&B, PHE, & Education sectors

SRINAGAR: To review the physical and financial progress of ongoing works taken up in District Capex Budget 2022-23 under R&B Education, PHE and Health Sectors in the District, a meeting of concerned Officers was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad here on Friday at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a sector wise review of physical targets achieved and expenditure incurred under R&B, Education, PHE and Health Departments.

While reviewing the Physical/Financial Status of Health Sector works taken up under District Capex in District, the Deputy Commissioner was apprised that to strengthen and upgrade healthcare infrastructure in Srinagar CB-Naat Machine costing Rs 30 lakh has been installed at UPHC Nishat, while upgradation work on construction of 2nd storey for UPHC Nishat is being executed at an approved cost of Rs 81.50 lakh.

Similarly, the Dc was informed that Rs 34 lakh USG Colour Doppler has also been also installed at District Tuberculosis Centre to provide improved facilities to patients. In addition HotLine service has been restored at UPHC S. R. Gunj.

Under Aspirational Block Development Programme(ABDP), healthcare facilities have been upgraded in NTPHC Zewan to facilitate the local patients, the DC was informed that Automatic Biochemistry Analyzer, Delivery table with multi para monitor, Baby warmer etc have been installed in NTPHC Zewan in Khonmoh Block of the District at a cost of Rs 16 lakh.

The DC was further informed that works on construction of Building for NTPHC Rakhi Arth has been completed at a cost of Rs 3.83.50 under State sector and Hand Over Take Over process has been initiated.

Similarly, work on SDH Chanapora has also been completed at a cost of  2.82 crore and the centre is functional.

He was also informed that work is in progress on 2nd phase of UPHC Lalbazar at a cost of Rs 22.50 lakh.

The DC was also given first-hand appraisal about projects taken under NABARD and Languishing scheme and PMDP 2022-23. He was informed that building for NTPHC Chatterhama has been completed under PMDP at a cost of Rs 88.89 lakh and the process of Handover Take over has been initiated.

With regard to Water Supply Scenario of Srinagar, the DC was given first hand appraisal about ongoing projects under Jal Jeevan Mission and it was given out that over 60 percent physical target has been achieved on RS 3.93 crore Aparpora Water Supply scheme, while 80 percent physical work on Rs 2.00 crore Poshpathri Water Supply scheme has been done so far.

The DC was further informed that Rs 128.26 Saidpora–Darbagh has been completed and other schemes including, Faqir Gujri-Dara, Takiyah Sanghrishi and Rakhi Zakura have been 95 percent physically completed.

Regarding Rs 3.51 lakh WSS Ahel Chatterhama being executed under NABARD, the Dc was informed that 90 percent of the project target has been achieved and Rs 2.27 crore WSS Augmentation Khimber NRDWP has been completed .

While reviewing the status of education sector of Srinagar District, the DC was apprised of the physical and financial achievements with regard to Civil Works, Elementary (Non-Construction), Secondary, SAMAGRA, Mid-Day Meals, Elementary (Construction).

The DC also took a detailed review of expenditure Under Aspirational Plan and was informed that 5 Smart Kindergarten have been established at a cost of Rs 30 lakh in Block Khonmoh and 2 Smart Kindergarten in Harwan at a cost of Rs 18 lakh

In Khonmoh Block Vocation Centers have been established at accost of Rs 31.76 and two Smart Class Rooms in Harwan at a cost of Rs 9.30 lakh and Vocation Training Centers at BHS Harawn at a cost ofRs 10.64 lakh.

The DC also took a detailed review of Status of SAMAGRA Works and Proposed Budget 2023-24 under District Capex Budget for school Education of the District.

The DC was informed that of total 50 works including 4 new works have been taken up at a cost of Rs 5.76 crore, 30 works have been completed as on date and work is in progress on the remaining works.

Similarly, the Deputy Commissioner also assessed the progress achieved under R&B sector and was informed that as many as 141 development works amounting Rs 54.90 crore were taken up under District Capex 2022-23, out of which 87 have been completed.

The DC was also informed that under Left River Circular Road Division, all 04 projects taken up during the current financial year have been completed with the approved cost of Rs 99.04 lakh.

With regard to the progress on construction of 29 blocks of Transit accommodation at Zewan, the DC was informed that work has picked up pace and men and machinery has been geared up to ensure that project is completed before the set timeline.

The Deputy Commissioner after taking sector wise review of all works directed the officers to ensure 100 percent expenditure in the set time line by accelerating the pace of the works scheduled for completion during the current year.

The DC laid stress on speeding up the pace of execution to complete the works in a time bound manner. He exhorted upon the concerned departments to remove bottlenecks to ensure the completion of works within the set timelines and directed the officers to put in best efforts for maximum utilisation of funds under different schemes.

Superintending Engineer R&B, Superintending Engineer, PHE Besides, Chief Medical officer, Deputy CEO, BMO Hazratbal, Executive Engineer of PHE, R&B, SAMAGRA Shiksha, Assistant Director Planning and other concerned Officers were present in the meeting.
