Police arrests two gamblers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have arrested two gamblers and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a Police party during patrolling in village Heewan found 04 persons busy with gambling activities in orchards near under construction Hospital Building Heewan. On noticing the police party, gamblers tried to flee from the spot who were chased by the police party and 02 persons were arrested on spot.
However, two among them managed to flee and efforts are on to nab the absconding gamblers. The arrested gamblers have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Ayaz and Bashir Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Abdullah both residents of Heewan Baramulla, the spokesman added.
Officers have also seized stake money of ₹3850/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, he said.
