Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that acting on a specific information, a police party at a checkpoint established at Momin Abad Anantnag arrested a drug peddler identified as Muzamil Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat resident of Arwani Bijbehara. During checking, officers were able to recover 1200 bottles of Codeine phosphate from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Anantnag and further investigation has been set into motion, he added.
