DC Kulgam reviews implementation status of JJM

KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review progress recorded under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of physical and financial progress made on various JJM Works.

It was informed that there are 218 works in the district and the total number of schemes/projects under JJM in the district is now 142 after splitting Shirpora Matibug scheme in three parts which will provide drinking water coverage to 14 villages of Behibagh and Frisal blocks.

It was also informed that out of 218 works, 205 works have been tendered, 160 allotted, 109 works have been taken up while as 05 works stands completed.

The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline. He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.

He instructed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.

He asked the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress on all allotted works for time-bound completion.

The meeting was attended by JD-Planning, ACR, ACP, Executive Engineers Jal Shakti Kulgam and Qazigund Division, DIO, CMO, AEEs and other officers.
