Baramulla born Lt Gen RS Reen takes over Director General at army HQ
New Delhi: Lt Gen RS Reen, who took over as Director General at Army headquarters in Delhi. Lt Gen Reen is a native of Jammu & Kashmir’s as he hails from Baramulla district in north Kashmir.
Reen’s ancestral village is Gohan in Baramulla and he is first from the valley and from the community to rise to the rank of Lt Gen, an official said.
The General Officer has completed his education from Kashmir.
“He is an alumnus of St Joseph High School, Baramulla and has graduated in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar,” the official said.
The General Officer is an alumnus of Indian Military Academy. He is a subject matter expert in the field of Quality Assurance.
Prior to being Director General, Reen was Additional Director General at Delhi and has held various prestigious appointments in his career spanning over 37 years.
