Drug peddler arrested in Anantnag, contraband substance recovered: Police
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said a police party from Police Station Bijbehara intercepted a suspicious person at a checkpoint established near Fruit Mandi Jablipora.
“He tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully,” he said.
The spokesman said that officers were able to recover Brown sugar like substance from his possession.
The police have identified him as Fasil Ashraf Zargar son of Mohammad Ashraf Zargar resident of Baba Mohalla Bijbehara.
“He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody,” he said.
The spokesman said a case under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation has been set into motion.
