DC Kathua inaugurates CBC’s 3-day Multimedia Exhibition

KATHUA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua Rahul Pandey on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day Multimedia Exhibition on “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

The exhibition was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Kathua.

The Multimedia Media Exhibition at Govt Degree College (Boys) Kathua is part of various outreach activities being organised by CBC in UTs of J&K and Ladakh.

The exhibition showcases the freedom struggle of India through a series of photo exhibitions as well as audio-visual media. Apart from this, a special section in the exhibition has been dedicated to G20 Summit India. Separate corner for Azadi Quest – recently launched online educational video game – and Sawaraj, a 75 episode mega serial of Doordarshan portraying stories of unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle is also part of the exhibition display.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Kathua appreciated the efforts of CBC Kathua in organising the multimedia exhibition and urged people to visit dedicated corners for “Azadi Quest” and Swaraj and download the video game for an insight into the freedom struggle of India.

Regarding the G20 Summit India, he highlighted various aspects of infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment and identifying innovative instruments for mobilizing financial resources for infrastructure investment.

Additional Director General CBC Sh. Rajinder Choudhary visited the exhibition venue and took stock of arrangements. He praised the efforts of CBC Kathua for making the arrangement.

Joint Director CBC Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Ghulam Abbas gave a detailed overview of the functioning, structure and working of CBC in the twin UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. He also briefed the audiences about various outreach activities that will be organised during the event.

Abass said that these programmes are being organised so that people get benefits of various public welfare schemes of the government.

Experts and representatives of KVIB Kathua, employment department, higher education department and health department delivered detailed lectures on the various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by their respective departments.

Schemes like National Social Assistance programme, Pradhanmantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana were specially focussed upon.

The departmental artists from CBC J&K presented some colourful theme based dance items. On the occasion, an open quiz was also organised which witnessed huge participation of youth. The programme culminated with prize distribution and light refreshment.
