DGP sanctions Rs. 94 lakh relief for families of deceased Police personnel, SPO

Jammu: The Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 94 lakh as Special Welfare Relief (SWR) in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased Police personnel, SPOs.

The police spokesman said that the SWR was released to provide financial succour to the families of the Police personnel who have passed away while in service.

“The DGP has sanctioned relief of Rs 22 lakh each in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased HC Shashi Paul, HC Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, SgCt. Nazir Ahmad and Ct. Abinandhan Singh,” he said.

He further said that the Rs six lakhs of SWR was released in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased SPO Omkar Singh.

“The deceased personnel, SPO, have passed away due to illness or  natural death while in service,” he said.

He said that Rs one lakh each has already been paid to the families of deceased Police personnel for performing their last rites through their concerned units.

“The SWR is sanctioned out of contributory Police welfare funds,” he said, adding that the Police Headquarter is implementing many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families.

“There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs,” he said.
