Police arrests three drug peddlers in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police have arrested three notorious drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said that a police party of Police Station Litter intercepted three suspicious persons at a checkpoint established at Khellan area of Litter Pulwama.
“They tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. During search, 350 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession,” he said.
The spokesman said the accused were identified as Kifayat Rashid Yatoo son of Abdul Rashid, Nazir Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz and Basit Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Shafi, all residents of Khellan Pulwama.
“They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody,” he said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 01/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Litter and investigation has been taken up, he said.
