Srinagar: Local residents from Rangreath on Tuesday demanded augmentation of public transport services on the Rangreath-Rawalpora route.

The residents of Rawalpora Srinagar are facing severe dearth in public transport services in the entire Rangreath-Rawalpora belt of the south city, they said.

“For many years the area was sans proper public transport services as there are only two matadors running on this route as confirmed from the concerned transporters,” the locals alleged.

“We have to either take Channapora or Hyderpora route to reach lal chowk as there is severe dearth of public transport services in our area” said group of residents of Alfarooq colony Rawalpora bypass Srinagar.

“We request both the RTO Kashmir and MD JKSRTC to take swift cognizance of the matter and do the needful,” they added.

“Especially the Deluxe JKSRTC bus can be deputed on the Rangreath-Rawalpora route,” the locals suggested.
