Block Diwas held at Kanjiuller, Shopian
SHOPIAN: The district administration Shopian on Wednesday held Mega Block Diwas at Kanjiuller Shopian to address the public issues at their doorsteps.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya presided over the Block Diwas.
On the occasion, DDC listened issues and demands of public importance projected by the people of Kanjiuller, including establishment of JK Bank Branch at Kanjiuller, better provision of drinking water in Dar Mohalla, Bhat Mohalla and Mangipora, uninterrupted power supply, repairs of lanes and by-lanes, ground at Mantugad Kanjiuller Shopian.
DDC while listening to the issues patiently assured that all the genuine issues would be looked into and addressed in a time bound manner.
He issued on spot orders for laying of water pipes from Dar Mohalla to Bhat Mohalla, having acute drinking water problems and directed the concerned to gearing up their execution works.
Directions were passed to the concerned officers for resolving the demands and other issues on priority basis.
On the occasion, a stall was set by the District Panchayat Election Office, Shopian within the premises of the block office Kanjiuller Shopian where information was given to the general public about the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2022.
People were invited to take part in the Revision exercise for registration of new voters.
DDC directed the Tehsildar Kanjiuller Shopian to put in service JCB for cleaning of the blocked drain near Jamia Masjid Kanjiuller Shopian by evening today.
He also directed for demolishing of encroachments in Kanjiuller Shopian and road widening to facilitate the general masses.
Later, SVEEP programmes were held at multiple locations across district Shopian.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya who is also District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) held a SVEEP camp at Kanjiullar, Shopian along with the Block Diwas programme.
DPEO interacted with the local residents and urged them for enrollment in the panchayat Electoral rolls with the qualifying date as January 01 of 2003.
He urged the people to contact their concerned PEBOs/AEROs for all issues related to the revision.
Two more programmes were held at BHQ Ramnagri and Tehsil HQ Keegam.
A large gathering of local residents and other officers/ officials attended the camps.
Election NT and Panchayat Election Booth Officers were also present during the programme and shared their experiences among the participants to register themselves through their concerned PEBOs.
They interacted with the local people of the area and raised awareness among them about the process of registering their newly eligible members of the family.
A large number of forms viz per 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D were also distributed among the people for maximum voter registration.
During the outreach programmes, PEBO’s were directed to conduct door to door surveys for maximum voter registration so that no voter is left behind.
The detailed schedule of the revision was shared with the public. The revision started on 21 Dec, 2022 and shall continue up to 18th of January.
During this period, the general public can file for the claims and objections with the PEBOs.
