Bpr Admkn reviews status of minor mineral mining

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmed Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the lifting, transportation and status of different minor mineral mining activities in the district.

The DC on the occasion sought details from the concerned departments regarding the transportation and lifting of minor minerals for the developmental works besides also took details of various spots available in the district for lifting of minor minerals.

He asked the concerned to ensure availability of minerals for various executing agencies of developmental projects so that they do not face any dearth of material.

Dr. Owais asked all the concerned departments to work in mission mode and coordination to make best use of available minor minerals in the district.

He stressed on scientific excavation of the minor minerals for developmental purposes without damaging the ecology of the area.

The DC directed the concerned DMO and field staff to work in coordination with other departments in regulating mining activities and curbing illegal mining.

The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Coordination Mohd Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad and other concerned officers.

Later, in a separate meeting, the DC took a review of the arrangements for Republic Day (R-Day) celebrations and full dress rehearsal.

The meeting discusses various measures to be taken up in view of forthcoming Republic day and various preparations to be done by departments.

The DC on the occasion directed all the concerned departments to make fool proof arrangements for R-Day celebration and Full dress rehearsal at all venues across the district.

He asked the officers to play an active role and work in coordination for the grand celebration besides making all arrangements with responsibility.

It was given out that in addition to March past by contingents of para military forces and students various cultural programmes will also be the part of celebrations and a felicitation ceremony would also be held.

The DC asked the security agencies to ensure fool proof security at all venues and also asked other concerned departments to ensure proper electricity, drinking water and all other essential facilities at all venues across the district.
