District Admin Srinagar reaches out to the fire victims

Immediate assistance under Red Cross provided to 20 fire affected families

SRINAGAR: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, a team of District Administration, Srinagar Saturday visited Chandpora(Gudood Bagh) locality of highly congested Habba Kadal area in Tehsil South of  Srinagar District to provide immediate assistance to the 14 affected families whose houses were gutted in a massive fire incidents here on Friday late night.

The team of District Administration headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Shabir  provided immediate assistance in the form of 70 blankets, 42 mattresses, 42 bed sheets and 14 kitchen sets, besides Rs 70,000 to all 14 affected families 5000 each as an interim relief out of the District Red Cross Fund.

Similarly, the affected family of Mansoor Colony in Bemina locality in Tehsil Shalteng of the District, whose houses were also engulfed in separate fire incident on Thursday, were also provided 30 blankets, 18 mattresses, 18 bed sheets and 6 kitchen sets, besides Rs 30000 to all 6 affected families 5000 each as an interim relief under Red Cross.

The Teams of District Administration Srinagar also expressed sympathy with the affected families on loss of property

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar has appealed to the General public to follow all precautionary measures while handling electric/electronic gadgets, LPG cylinders and other appliances being used for heating and cooking purposes to avoid such fire incidents.

Pertinent to mention that Srinagar District has seen rising fire incidents in Srinagar District for the last couple of weeks.
